William George Shumaker William George Shumaker, 85, of Lewiston, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2007 at his residence. He was born on August 10, 1921 to Clarence and Clara (Snow) Shumaker in Detroit, MI. He married the former Leona Ferdette in 1944 in Roseville, MI. William served in the US Navy during World War II. He has lived in Lewiston permanently for the past 20 yrs, after retiring from the Borden Milk Company in Madison Heights, where he worked for over 35 yrs. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lewiston. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Bill also enjoyed to golf, bowl, fix old clocks and watches, and collecting coins from his travels. William is survived by his son, Keith (Susan) Shumaker of Lewiston, MI; grandaughters, Tracie (Charles) Morris of Redford, MI, and Marcie (Willy) Woodard of Pontiac, MI; great grandson Marco; brother, Robert (Doris) Shumaker of Hillman, MI; and a sister, Dorothy Haas of Lewiston, MI. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona; and a brother Clifford. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and there are no services planned at this time. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Albert Twp Cemetery in Lewiston.
