William C. Nickerson William C. Nickerson, 71, of Atlanta passed away Friday, June 30, 2006 at his residence. Bill was born in Atlanta June 4, 1935, the son of Frank and Pearl (McCarney) Nickerson. He graduated from Atlanta High School and served his country as a member of the US Air Force. Bill retired from General Motors in 1985, after 34 years service as a foreman on the motor assembly line. Bill was a member of the Fun Ones Snowmobile Club and the Moose in Lewiston. He was an avid horseshoe player, often playing in tournaments, and also loved mushroom picking. He was a member of the New Beginnings Church in Hillman. Surviving are his wife, Barbara, son, Alan Nickerson of Lincoln Park, MI; daughters, Julie Nickerson and Cheri Straw, both of Ypsilanti, MI; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; stepson Jeff (Carol) Hensley of Jackson, MI; stepdaughter, Vicky (Dave) Broome of Carmel, IN; two step grandchildren; brother, Tim (Betty) Nickerson of Gladwin; and sisters, Nellie LaSalle of Pontiac, Delores (Emerson) Guilliat of Gladwin and Bessie Davis of Clarkston. Funeral services were held July 3, 2006 from Green Funeral Home with Pastor David Clayton officiating.
