William Craig

William L. Craig, age 90, of Lewiston, Michigan died May 29, 2020 at Munson Medical Hospital in Traverse City, Michigan. William was born on October 16, 1929 to Margaret and Alvin Craig. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. Following his release from the Air Force, he worked at Michigan Consolidated Gas Company (currently known as DTE). He married, Maureen Patricia Fokens, on January 10, 1953 and they enjoyed 39 years of marriage until Maureen passed away. They had three children: Karen, Stephen, and Cheryl. They had moved to Lewiston, Michigan in 1992 where William continued to live until his death. He enjoyed working around the house and spending time with his family and friends and just relaxing in his surroundings. On March 16, 1996 he married, Rose Marie DePlanche and together they enjoyed their life together and the times they spent traveling. They spent their winter months in Laughlin, Nevada.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rose Marie of Lewiston; their blended family that consisted of Karen (Robert Sietman) Warren of Johannesburg; the late, Stephen Craig; the late, Cheryl (Robert) Vervinck; step-daughter, Dawn DePlanche of South Gate; stepson, Gordon DePlanche of Lewiston; grandchildren, Richard (Kelly Chomontowski) Ditchie; Renee (Derek) Divozzo; Denise (Douglas) Baum; the late, Jacob Warren; Collin (Lauren Kozlowski) Vervinck; Matthew Vervinck; Jennifer (Raymond Greenwell) Borton; Todd William Craig; Kaitlyn DePlanche; Dennis DePlanche; and Gavin DePlanche; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Divozzo; Drake Divozzo; Travis Hoy; Tanner Hoy; Brody Baum; Hanna Warren; and Kaylee Warren. William was preceded in death by his first wife, Maureen; their daughter, Cheryl Vervinck; their son, Stephen A. Craig; and their grandson, Jacob Warren.

William was cremated and a memorial service will be planned to take place later this summer following the lifting of the Coronavirus restrictions. Interment will be at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, Michigan.
