William L. Boughner William "Bill" L. Boughner, age 78 of Atlanta, MI passed away February 2, 2007. He resided in Atlanta, MI under his wife's care until moving to Tendercare Nursing Home in Alpena, MI. He was born the son of George and Vera Boughner (Woodard) in Yale, MI. Bill was a Serviceman of United States Navy until 1947, serving on the Destroyer USS Rogers. He was employed by Empire Tool for many years before retiring to Atlanta to open his own machine shop - Bill's Machine and Repair which opened in 1978, until suffering a stroke in April 1997. Bill enjoyed gardening, rides in the woods, wildlife, family, friends, and woodworking. Bill is survived by his wife Vonda Boughner of Atlanta, 9 children, Carol (Charles) Durfee of St. Clair, MI, Harold (Pat) Boughner of Gladwin, William Jr. (Linda) Boughner of Sandusky, MI, Elizabeth (Brad) Robinson of Oscoda, MI, Ron (Julie) Boughner of Peck, MI, Randy (Marvin) Boughner of Clarkston, MI, Sandra (John) McKerchie of Howard City, Leonard (Bonnie) Boughner of Yale, and Barbara (Larry) Butler of Hazel Park; 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews from the East Coast. He is preceded in death by his parents George and Vera Boughner, step-father Leslie Job, brother Clayton "Red" Boughner, and sister Betty "Bet" Nickerson. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at 1:00 PM, at Green Funeral Home in Atlanta, MI, with Pastor Ken McGarvey of Big Rock Congregational Church officiating. Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday, from 4-7 PM at the funeral home. The family has suggested memorials to Hospice of Michigan, Alpena.
