Wayne Eugene Portice Mr. Wayne Eugene Portice, 73 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully on August 8, 2016 at MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland. He was born on July 23, 1943 to the late, Eugene and Delma (Hill) Portice in Deckerville, Michigan. He was a proud veteran and served his country during the Vietnam War. Wayne was a merchant marine and retired from working on the boats and sailing the Great Lakes in 2005. He was a member of the Atlanta Thunder Bay Eagles 4077 and the Hillman VFW Post 2356. He enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre and belonged to a poker club at one time. Wayne was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his brother, Roger (Linda) Portice of Atlanta; sister, Carol Samuelson of Deckerville; sister, Brenda (Bob) Roelens of Palms; brother, Terry Portice of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; sister, Darlene (Bill) Hoff of Deckerville; special step-granddaughter, Hope Kelley of Alpena; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and his significant other, Myrna Nash of Atlanta. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Delma Portice. As were his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial held in celebration of his life at the Atlanta Thunder Bay Eagles at a later date.
