Warren Elowsky

Warren R. Elowsky Warren R. Elowsky, 80, of Hubbard Lake, MI passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2006 at Tendercare Nursing Home in Alpena. He was born to Elmer and Edith (Page) Elowsky on July 5, 1926 in Alpena, Michigan. He married the former Charlene Hoadley on June 3, 1966. Warren has lived in Hubbard Lake since 1982 formally of the Flint area. In his younger years, he was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing, but respected all animals. Over the years, he worked at the old Alpena Tannery, on the boats as a fireman, AC Spark Plug in Flint, CJ Rodgers Excavating, and road repair, after which he started his own excavating and construction business in the Flint area, which he ran until his move to the family farm in Hubbard Lake. He continued raising animals and enjoyed smoking fish, making sausage, and gardening. He dearly loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and many friends. His unique laugh, orange jacket, and cap will be missed by all. Warren is survived by his wife, Charlene; daughter, Gwen (William) Richardson of Virginia Beach, VA; son, Lanford (Lynn) Elowsky of Millington, MI; daughter, Cynthia Elowsky of Virginia Beach, VA; son, William (Nancy) Elowsky of Alpena, MI; step son, Rich (Dana) Page of Burton, MI; step daughter, Sandra (Jack) Hammen of Flint, MI; step daughter, Sharon (Robert) Fischer of Burton, MI; step son Randy (Burdette) Page of Montrose, MI; 15 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son Gregory Elowsky, step daughters, Shirley Ketchabaw and Janet Pope; and a granddaughter, Katrina Pope. A memorial service will take place on December 14, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Ossineke, Rev Earl Elowsky officiating. A luncheon will be held immediately following services at the Church.
