Wanda Mae Code Wanda Mae Code, 82, of Lewiston, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at McClaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey. She was born on November 6, 1934 to Benjamin and Leona (Schulz) Cooper in East Detroit, Michigan. She married George Code on October 4, 1952, celebrating 64 years of marriage before her passing. She has lived in Lewiston for the past 23 years, formerly of Howell, Michigan. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and was active with the Happy Needlers quilting group there. She was an avid quilter, making thousands of quilts for family, friends, and to donate to charitable groups. She used to enjoy gardening, back in Howell she had a five acre garden she cared for. She was a member of the Alpena Antique Steam Engine and Steam Tractor Show Club and also the Michigan Steam Engine and Threshers Club. She was also a member of the Lewiston Moose. She loved to take pontoon rides on Tee Lake in the summer. Above all else, Wanda loved time spent with family and friends and will be dearly missed. Wanda is survived by her husband, George; son, Tim (Chris) Code of Howell, Michigan; daughters, Sally Code of Waters, Michigan, Karen (Rick) Poore of Mount Shasta, California, LeeAnn Williamson of Lewiston, and Cynthia Bullinger of Heartland, Michigan; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and a sister, Phyllis Sieferline of Clinton Township, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Leona; son, Donald; brothers, Benjamin and Kenneth Cooper; and sisters, Betty McInctosh and Patsy Cooper. Funeral services for Mrs. Code will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Lewiston, MI at 11:00 AM, Pastor Steven Thiel officiating. Interment will take place at Albert Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Green Funeral Home, Lewiston on Wednesday from 2-8 PM and again Thursday morning, from 10:00 AM until time of service at the church.
