Vonda Louise Brooks Vonda Louise Brooks, 82, of Atlanta, MI, passed away on December 23, 2010 at Tendercare Gaylord. She was born on March 3, 1928 to Frank and Dora (Smith) Thompson in Vienna, MI. She married Lee Brooks on August 2, 1948 in Grayling, MI. She has lived in Atlanta for the past 16 years, from the Lansing area. She was a member of the Atlanta Order of Eastern Star. She was an avid card player, would play just about any game that involved a deck of cards. She also liked bird watching, flowers, and crocheting, and enjoyed trips to the casino. Above all else, Vonda loved her family. Vonda is survived by her husband, Lee of Atlanta, MI; daughters, Linda (Richard) Wallis of Trout Lake, MI, Peggy (Dale) Howard of St Johns, MI, and Mary Brooks of Atlanta, MI; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 1 great granddaughters; and a sister, Dorine Allen of Lansing, MI. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Kevin Wallis; brothers, Archel, Charles, and Russell Thompson; and sisters, Lila Smith, Maybe Mulholland, Betty Seibert, and Ethel Gamble. Funeral services for Mrs Brooks will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Green Funeral Home, Atlanta, MI, Pastor Roger Steele officiating. Interment will take place in the Spring at Briley Twp Cemetery. Visitation hours will be held on Monday, from 5-8 PM at the funeral home, and again on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until time of service.
