Vernie Mowery

Vernie Audrey Mowery Mrs. Vernie Audrey Mowery, 100 of Lewiston, Michigan passed away at Tendercare Gaylord on July 02, 2013. She was born to the late, Gideon and Telena (Benac) Barton in Lachine on June 12, 1913. She married husband, Francis Mowery on November 2, 1930. He preceded her in death in 1986. Vernie lived in Lewiston since 1942 and spent her entire life being up north. She was a member of the Eastern Star in both Atlanta and Lewiston, and was also on the bowling league's for years winning numerous awards and patches. She was a life long Detroit Tigers fan. Above everything, Vernie loved her time spent with family. She is survived by her son, Allen Mowery of Lewiston; daughters, Glendora Jacobson of Grand Haven; Linda (Tom) Behnke of Lewiston; nineteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gideon and Telena Barton; husband, Frank Mowery; son, Douglas Mowery; daughter, Audrey King; and granddaughter, Becky Mowery. Funeral services for Mrs. Mowery were held on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at the Green Funeral Home, Atlanta, MI, Pastors Keith and Ginny Titus officiating. Interment will take place at Briley Twp Cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Allen Mowery of Lewiston; daughters, Glendora Jacobson of Grand Haven; Linda (Tom) Behnke of Lewiston; nineteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gideon and Telena Barton; husband, Frank Mowery; son, Douglas Mowery; daughter, Audrey King; and granddaughter, Becky Mowery.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mowery were held on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at the Green Funeral Home, Atlanta, MI, Pastors Keith and Ginny Titus officiating. Interment will take place at Briley Twp Cemetery.
