Verna Proffitt

Verna Proffitt Verna Proffitt, 72, of Hillman, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at her residence. She was born on October 21, 1935 to Andrew and Edith (Fritch) Twork in Macomb County, MI. She has lived in Hillman since 1991 formerly of Sterling Heights, MI. She was a life member of the Hillman VFW Post 2356 Ladies Auxilliary. She was also a member of the Hillman Sr Center and the Montmorency County Conservation Club. She enjoyed collecting eagles, quilting, and BINGO. Verna is survived by her companion, Herb Armon of Hillman, MI; son Randy Proffitt of Maine; daughter, Candy Proffitt of Las Vegas, NV; son, Sandy Proffitt of Shelby Twp, MI; step son, Keith (Vivian) Armon of Hillman, MI; step daughers, Nancy Armon of Chesterfeild Twp, MI, Pamela Armon of South Lyon, MI, and Cheryl Banks of Hillman, MI; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers, Martin Twork of Cass City, and James Twork of Onaway, MI; and sisters, Sylvia Hudson of Dixon, TN, and Nora Robertson of Hundington, TN. Funeral services for Mrs Proffitt will be on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 2:00 p.m., at the Green Funeral Home, Hillman, MI, Pastor James Killion officiating. Visitation hours will be held on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Christian Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Rochester, MI.
