Vergilena P. James Vergilena P. James, 88, of Hillman, MI, went to Heaven to be with her husband of many years, Chet, on September 21, 2010. She was born on November 7, 1921 to Elmer and Edith (Scott) Goheen in Flint, MI. She has lived in Hillman for many years. She spent a lot of time helping her husband with the family excavating business. She was not the typical "Cookie Baking Mom"; she enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and trapping. Above all else she loved the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Vergie is survived by her son, Chet "Butch" James of Hillman, MI; daughters, Lavon (Don Spindler) James of Hillman, Bernie (Todd) Pitt of Coleman, MI, and Joanne (Wayne) Schalk of Hillman; 7 grandchildren, Alaine, Michelle, Adrian, Michael, Beth, Eric, and Chaley; 13 great grandchildren, Celeste, James, Darian, Hanna, Emmie, Jordan, Trevor, Kami, Taylor, Tori, Cadyn, Becca, and Brady; and a brother, Leroy Goheen of Hillman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chet; son, Eugene "Jibo" James, grandchildren, Tiffany Crawford and Joe Kline; and great grandson, Chase Covington. Graveside services for Mrs James will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at the Hillman Rust Twp Cemetery at 11:00 AM. Arrangements were entrusted to the Green Funeral Home, Hillman, MI.
