Atlanta

Todd J. Kendrick, 45 of Atlanta, Michigan died on August 9, 2020 at Monument Health Rapid City Hospital in Rapid City, South Dakota due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was welcomed into Heaven with open arms by his dad, Russell and his maternal and paternal grandparents. He was born in Akron, Ohio on February 12, 1975 to Russell and Joann (White) Kendrick. Todd began school in Rochester Hills, Michigan and at the age of twelve moved to Atlanta. He graduated as valedictorian of the Atlanta High School class of 1993 and went on to receive his Associate's degree from Alpena Community College. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Mortuary Science from Wayne State University in 1997 and became a licensed funeral director in 1998. On August 25, 2001 he and Karen (Kinney) Kendrick married at Big Rock Congregational Church in Atlanta. Todd embraced her children as his own; Sarah, Gregory, Julia, Jered, and Seth Teets. Julia preceded him in death in January of 1999. Todd and Karen welcomed son, Tucker in 2006.

From the age of twelve, Todd helped his dad around the funeral home. It later grew into something more when Todd realized his passion for funeral service. He served the families of Montmorency County alongside his dad until Russ retired in 2007. Todd continued his father's legacy and obtained ownership of Green Funeral Home in 2018. His passion for serving the community and helping families through their grief was shown in every hug that he shared and his compassionate smile. Todd lived his life full of energy and enthusiasm. He particularly loved football, snowmobiling, boating, camping, motorcycling, and spending time with his friends and family.

Todd is survived by his mother, Joann Ryan of Midland; stepmother, Julie (Guest) Kendrick of Atlanta; brothers, Doug (Kristen) of Mount Pleasant, Ryan of Northern Ireland, and Shane Hales of Atlanta; children, Sarah (Jordan) Popour of Holland, Michigan, Gregory (Chelsey Painter) of Hillman, Jered (Marziah Ziobran) of Atlanta, Seth (Jenna Chambers) of Atlanta, and Tucker Kendrick of Atlanta; grandchildren, Grace, Jonah, and Lincoln (and Holden due in November); nieces and nephews, Erin of Northern Ireland, and Charlie and Alexandra of Mount Pleasant; uncles, John (Kathy) White of North Canton, Ohio, and Jim (Joanie) White of Boardman, Ohio as well as his cousins.
