Thomas Joseph Shather Thomas Joseph Shather, 81, of Lewiston, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at his residence. He was born on January 2, 1928 to Thomas and Julia (Hodge) Shather in Detroit, MI. Thomas served his country during WWII in the US Navy. He married the former Marcella Zmudczynski in 1950 in Detroit. He worked most of his life as a meat cutter, and was very good at his job. He was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Lewiston. He was an avid boater, and enjoyed to hunt and fish. Tom liked to read. Thomas is survived by his wife, Marcella, of Lewiston, MI; sons, Thomas III of Mt Clemens, MI, Daniel (Cheryl) of Flint, MI, Robert (Judy) of Clairmont, CA, and Matthew (Denise) of New Haven, MI; daughters, Deborah (John) Forbes of Romeo, MI, and Marcelyn (Val) Cupples of Canyon Lake, CA; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a sister, Marianne (Walter) Jabalee of Mt Clemens, MI. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on February 7, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Lewiston, Pastor Don Evilsizer officiating.
