Thomas Rice

Thomas Lawrence Rice Thomas Lawrence Rice, 65, of Atlanta, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2009 at Alpena Regional Medical Center. He was born on June 14, 1944 to Bert and Doris (Lalonde) Rice in Wyandotte, MI. He served his country in the US Army during Vietnam. He retired from Great Lakes Steel after 33 yrs as a millwright. After retiring, he worked for ABC Medical for 4 years as well. He was a member of the Onaway VFW Post. He enjoyed trips to the casinos, especially in Las Vegas. He loved the outdoors, where camping, fishing, and hunting were his favorites. He also liked to watch the Food Network, and was quite a cook himself. Tom is survived by his son, Brian (Michelle) Rice of Atlanta, MI; grandchildren, Brianna, Chelsea, Brooke, and Crystal; great granddaughter, Liliana; brothers, Tim (Loretta) Rice of Comins, MI, and Bert Rice of Corpus Christi, TX; and sisters, Theresa (James) Damron of Atlanta, MI, and Sherry Dupuie of Melvindale, MI. Funeral services for Mr Rice will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at 4:00 PM at the Green Funeral Home, Atlanta, MI, Pastor Roger Steele officiating. Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until time of service
