Thomas Robert Beattie

Mr. Thomas Robert Beattie, 79 of Atlanta, died peacefully at his home on July 19, 2023. He was born in Detroit, Michigan to the late, Robert and Eileen (Page) Beattie on June 4, 1944. He served his country proudly as a Seabee in the United States Navy. Thomas has resided in the Atlanta area since 1990. Thomas was a journeyman carpenter. He served as a volunteer firefighter and emergency first responder with Tri Township. Following his retirement, he enjoyed carving waterfowl and wild birds. He will be deeply missed.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Beattie of Atlanta; children, Aurore Diehl of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Paul (Jill) Layden of Fort Collins, Colorado; Kari Nunemaker of Tellico Plains, Tennessee; Steven Layden of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Daniel (Debbie) Layden of Fort Worth, Texas; Heidi (John) Teets of Atlanta; numerous grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sisters, Kathleen Stremersch of Detroit; Eileen (Gary) Dudzinski of Fairhaven; Darlene (Pete) Meldrum of Algonac; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Eileen Beattie; and first wife, Linda Sienko.
