Mrs. Terri Lynn Brower, 56 of Hillman, Michigan died peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving husband and sister on January 21, 2022 after a 30 year fight with Multiple Sclerosis. She was born in Alpena, Michigan to James and Gaye (Mousseau) Lixie on July 15, 1965. She attended Western Michigan University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in teaching. She married her husband, Jeff Brower on April 26, 2003 in Alpena and together the couple celebrated 18 years of marriage before her passing. Formerly from Alpena, Terri resided in Hillman for the last 19 years. She was a member of New Beginnings Ministries. Terri had a talent for painting and created many beautiful pieces for her siblings. She enjoyed reading, camping, her cats Little One and Smokie, and most importantly, spending time with family. She will be deeply missed.
Terri is survived by her husband, Jeff Brower of Hillman; parents, James and Gaye Lixie of Alpena; stepchildren, Channon Brower of Wolverine; Jeffrey Brower of Greenville; Kasandra (Darrell) Wilson of La Vergne, Tennessee; seven grandchildren; siblings, Cindy (Rod) Martin of Herron; Debbie (Brett Hubers) Sabourin of Cincinnati, Ohio; Dina (Scott) Mousseau of East Tawas; Harold Lixie of Alpena; several aunts, uncles, cousins; four nieces; one nephew; one great-nephew; and one great-niece on the way. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Terri’s caregivers; Tammy Muma, Marie Villeneuve, Pat Mckracken, and Angie Jones for the wonderful care they provided to Terri over the years.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service held in celebration of Terri’s life at noon on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at New Beginnings Ministries, Hillman; Pastor Larry Kirby officiating. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM until time of service with a luncheon following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Terri’s memory to Hospice of Michigan or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
