Shirley Ann Klotz On May 17, 2014 Shirley Ann Klotz entered her Heavenly Father's Home with family at her side. She was born March 23, 1936 in Okemos MI to Calvin and Doris Burch. She married the love of her life Roy Eugene Klotz on April 24, 1954, and had the honor of being his wife for 60 years. From their union five children were born, Pam (Steve) Achatz, Connie Johnston, Amy (Mike) Carter, Carol Klein and Christian Klotz all of Hillman. Their family grew to include 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Roy and Shirley moved to Hillman in 1971, where she was a devoted farmer's wife, and was well known in the community for her 43 years of accounting. Shirley was a former Treasurer for Montmorency Township, a member of the Hillman Fire Board, and a founding member of the Hillman Fire Department Women's auxiliary. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, a 4-H leader, an active member of HPAC, and was the Superintendent for the needlework Department at the Montmorency Co. Fair for many years. She and Roy were well known for their elephant ears during their days of R&S Fun Foods. Shirley enjoyed collecting dolls and spoons. She loved to crochet and quilt, and was a member of the Thunderbay Quilt Guild. She was proceeded in death by her parents Calvin & Doris Burch, sister Donna Hayhoe, brothers; Dale Burch, Russ Burch and Jerry Burch. In laws Roy & Genevie Klotz. Son in law Perrin Klein and great granddaughter Amy Cordes. Funeral services for Mrs Klotz will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the St Johns Lutheran Church, Pastor Jason Mandley officiating. Visitation hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-8 PM at the Church, and again on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until time of service. The family has suggested memorials to Needlework Department at the Montmorency County 4H Fair Board. Arrangements were entrusted to the Green Funeral Home.
