Sadie B. Tompkins Sadie B. Tompkins, 100, of Atlanta, MI, passed away at her residence on September 22, 2010. She was born on February 10, 1910 to James and Julie (Neimo) Yancey in Steele, MO. She married Willie Tompkins on July 1, 1928. Sadie has lived in Atlanta for the past 16 yrs, formerly of Wayne Westland, MI. She was a member of the Atlanta Church of Christ, and was always active with the local Church of Christ wherever she lived over the years. She enjoyed quilting and making clothes, and was an avid reader. She loved to cook, especially baking delicious coconut cakes. Sadie is survived by her daughters, Nadine Jinkerson of Fairmont City, IL, Rita (Guy) Blakeman of Atlanta, MI, and Sue (Joe) Zboyan of Livonia, MI; son, Huston (Elizabeth) Tompkins of Canyon, CO; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie; and children, Haskel, Shelba, Fostein, Ronnie, Janice, and Mona, and her seven siblings. Funeral services for Mrs Tompkins will be held on Monday, September 27, 2010 at the Green Funeral Home, Atlanta, MI, Mr Glen Martin officiating. Visitation hours will be held on Sunday from 2-9 PM at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Loud Twp Cemetery. The family has suggested memorials to Hospice of Michigan, Alpena.
