Ruth Amelia Northrup Ruth Amelia Northrup, 89, of Atlanta, passed away at Medilodge of Hillman on June 5, 2008. She was born on September 12, 1918 to Elmer and Ellen (Bickell) Gilbert in Attica, MI. She married Kenneth Northrop in 1935 in Toledo, Ohio. She lived in Hillman for many years moving there in 1973 from Attica, MI, she then moved to Atlanta with her daughter in 1997. Ruth enjoyed to crochet and knit. She was an avid reader. Ruth is survived by her two daughters, Eleanor Peter of Atlanta, MI, and Nancy (Gary) Worsley of Lewiston, MI; 16 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; 18 great great grandchildren; and a brother, Donald Gilbert of Harrison, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, a son, Peter; brothers, Robert and John; and sisters, Edith Christmas and Josephine Fenningsdorf. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Green Funeral Home, Atlanta, MI, Pastor Roger Steele officiating. Visitation hours will be held on Sunday from 3:00 until time of service. Interment services will take place on Monday at the Dryden Center Cemetery, in Dryden, MI at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Mary Belle Hynes officiating.
