Ruth Bonner

Ruth Virginia Bonner Ruth Virginia Bonner, 83, of Hillman passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at Medilodge Nursing Home in Hillman. She was born on August 27, 1924 to Ernest and Emma (Gapeski) Zander in Alpena, MI. She married Erwin Bonner on Junde 25, 1945 in Alpena. Ruth spent most of her life in the Hillman area. She was a member of Hillman United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, canning, and baking, especially making bread and raspberry jam. She liked indoor plants, and had quite a green thumb. She enjoyed the pet parakeets she had for a while, and loved to shop for clothes. She loved to go out to dinner with her family, especially to Applebees. Ruth is survived by her son, Tom (Lynn) Bonner of Novi, MI; daughters, Kathy Bonner of Hillman, Mary (Curt) Lincoln of Kalamazoo, MI, Eileen (Joe) Bouchey of Hillman, and Patty (Steve) D'Valentine of Okemos, MI; 6 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Erwin; sister, Harriet Murphy; and brother, Ernest Zander. Funeral services for Mrs Bonner will be on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hillman United Methodist Church, Pastor Karen Mars officiating. Visitation hours will be held on Monday from 5-9 p.m. at the Church, and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Arrangements were entrusted to the Green Funeral Home, Hillman, MI.
