Mr. Russell Leon Pyle, 60 of Lachine, Michigan died suddenly at MidMichigan Medical Center in Alpena on June 8, 2021. He was born on January 15, 1961 in Alpena to Melvin Pyle and Carol Treadwell. He graduated from Waterford Mott High School in 1979 and moved to Lachine in 1999. Russell worked as a caregiver for the Department of Mental Health in Alpena for 14 years. While living in Oklahoma City in the 80's he worked in hospitality as a bellman at a ritzy hotel where he met numerous famous people, including Bette Midler. Russell was social and loved people. He enjoyed music and loved to sing. He was an outdoorsman and loved animals. Russell was also a huge collector of salt and pepper shakers with his collection totaling over 500. Most importantly, Russell loved his family and he will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his parents, Carol (Victor Johnson) Tovey of Augres; Melvin Pyle of Hillman; sisters, Dorene Pyle of Lachine; Cressie (James) Woodbury of Twining; niece, Morgan Woodbury of Sterling; nephew, Roland Woodbury of Lewiston; and numerous aunts, uncle, and cousins.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. The family has chosen to remember Russell privately at this time.
