Russell Anthony Cassisi Mr. Russell Anthony Cassisi, 52 of Lewiston, Michigan passed away at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey on February 5, 2013. He was born to Benjamin and Sandra (Thaxton) Cassisi on September 11, 1960 in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from Clintondale High School in Clinton Township in 1979. Russell worked as a heavy equipment operator at Eagle Landfill in Oakland County for many years. He then went on to work at Garland Golf Resort clearing land. He was a resident of Lewiston for the last year and a half, formally of Mio. He enjoyed hunting deer and fishing for anything; he especially loved to go to Fletcher's Floodwaters with friends. Russell loved to cook, but above all enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his daughter, Krista Cassisi of Clarkston; father, Ben (Sandra) Cassisi of Atlanta; brothers, Anthony Cassisi of Shelby Township; and Dino Cassisi of Lewiston; sister, Maria (Steven) Miller of Lewiston; and fiancé, Sheila Howard of Mio. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kara Cassisi. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial mass held at 11:00AM on Friday, February 15, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church; Lewiston, Michigan; Rev. Santiago M. Hoyumpa officiating. Visitation will take place at the Green Funeral Home; Lewiston, Michigan on Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 5:00PM-8:00PM with a rosary service at 7:30PM.
