Rosetta Carlene Cheedie

Rosetta “Rose” Carlene Cheedie, 74 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully at home with her children at her side on the evening of March 22, 2025. She was immediately welcomed into Heaven with outstretched arms by her late husband, Doug. Rose was born in Atlanta, Michigan on August 20, 1950 to the late Roy and Margaret (Sherbonda) Brooks. On February 7, 1970 she married Douglas Cheedie and together they celebrated 50 years of marriage before his passing in 2020. The couple moved to Atlanta in 1984. Rose worked as the Briley Township Treasurer for several years. Rose would make and sell Christmas wreaths for the holiday from the family farm, JAG-C. She enjoyed gardening and attended all of her grandchildren’s sporting events, alongside Doug. Rose is and will be deeply missed.

She is remembered by her daughter, Toni (Joseph) Crager; son, Troy (Kristen) Cheedie; grandchildren, Chace Hooper, Gage Cheedie, Jace Cheedie, and Aiden Crager; brothers, Richard Brooks and Gayle Brooks; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Margaret Brooks; husband, Doug; and eight siblings. The family would like to thank Hospice of Michigan for the wonderful care they provided.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a graveside service held for Rose on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Briley Township Cemetery where she will be laid to rest. Time to be determined. In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to Hospice of Michigan in memory of Rose.
