Rosalie Cordes

Rosalie Edna Cordes Mrs. Rosalie Edna Cordes, 86 of Hillman passed away at her residence on September 27, 2012. She was born to John and Otillie (Wolter) Edgar in Montmorency Twp, Michigan on December 2, 1925. She married Arthur Cordes on June 5, 1947 at St John's Lutheran Church in Royston. Rosalie lived in the Hillman/Royston area her entire life and was a member at the St. John's Lutheran Church. She also worked as a ladies aide at the church. She was a great cook and was famous for baking bread and making homemade sauerkraut. She enjoyed to do word puzzles and spend time with her family. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her children, sons; David Cordes of White Haven, PA; and Bill (Marilyn) Cordes of Hillman; daughters, Connie (Roger Andrzejewski) Williams of Hillman; Peggy (Ken) Parent of Hillman; ten grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie Scheske of Hillman; Dorris Krueger of Hawks; numerous nieces and nephews; and her cat, Baby. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Otillie Edgar; husband, Arthur Cordes; son, John Cordes; daughter, Suzanne Finley; brothers, Herb, John, Claude, Harry, Robert, James, Floyd Edgar; and sister, Sarah Vogt. Funeral services for Mrs. Cordes will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Royston, MI, Pastor Jason Mandley officiating. Visitation will take place on Friday, September 28, 2012 from 3:00 PM-8:00 PM and again on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the church. Interment will take place at St. John's Cemetery. Memorials have been suggested to St John's Lutheran Church or to any charity of the donor's choice.
