Rodney G. Schook Mr. Rodney G Schook, 72 of Hillman, Michigan passed away on November 21, 2012 at his residence. He was born to Charles and Lillian (Lince) Schook in Hillman on January 26, 1940. Rodney lived in Hillman all of his life except for when he served in the United States Army for twenty-years, retiring in 1977. He served two tours in Vietnam and Korea and served all over the world throughout his service, including Thailand and Germany. He married wife, Ursula (Veit) Schook on October 7, 1978 and together they raised five children. In his free time he enjoyed horses and owned some of his own for many years. He refurbished sleighs and buggies as well. Rodney liked to go hunting and fishing with family and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-four years, Ursula Schook of Hillman; sons, Rodney (Robin) Schook of Hillman; Mike Schook of Colorado; Tom (Brenda Vanderwiel) Smith of Montrose; Mike (Carrie) Smith of Hillman; daughter, Diana Edgar of Hillman; grandchildren; Jennifer, Tiffany, Alexa, Leslie, Megan, Maci, Nolan, Mickaila, Michelle, Allan, Dylan, Vanessa, Madelyn, Bailey; and two great-grandchildren; James and Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lillian Schook; grandson, Matthew Smith; and brothers; Ray, Roy, Chuck, Bud, Bob, and Bain Schook. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial will be held in celebration of his life on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 11:00AM at the Free Methodist Church, Hillman, MI; Pastor Bob Coen officiating.
