Roberta Horn

Roberta Ellen Van Horn Mrs. Roberta Ellen Van Horn, 102 of Hillman, Michigan passed away on June 5, 2013 at Alpena Regional Medical Center. She was born to the late, Robert and Sadie Mae (Williams) Thomas in Shoals, Indiana on May 11, 1911. She moved to Hillman in 2005, formerly from the Detroit area. She worked at both the Detroit Institute of Art and the Detroit Children's Hospital in office management. She also worked sales in Bonds Retail in downtown Detroit. Roberta was a past member of the Metropolitan Methodist Church and was an avid reader, dog lover; always having a dog and going to shows, and also enjoyed traveling. Above everything, she enjoyed her time spent with her family and grandchildren and will be dearly missed. She is survived by daughter, Beverly (Richard) Clayton of Hillman; grandson, Kirk (Pattie Kahlie) Clayton of Hillman; David (Joan) Clayton of Howell; granddaughter, Cathy Hatch of Hillman; great-grandson, David (Kelly) Clayton Jr. of VA; great-granddaughter, Briana Clayton of Howell; and great-great-grandchildren, Alexis and James Clayton of VA; David Clayton III; and Rylan Clayton. Funeral services for Mrs. Van Horn were held at 7:00PM on Monday, June 10, 2013 at Green Funeral Home, Hillman, MI, Pastor Bob Coen officiating. Visitation took place from 4:00PM until time of service. Interment will take place at Roseland Park Cemetery; Berkley, MI.
She is survived by daughter, Beverly (Richard) Clayton of Hillman; grandson, Kirk (Pattie Kahlie) Clayton of Hillman; David (Joan) Clayton of Howell; granddaughter, Cathy Hatch of Hillman; great-grandson, David (Kelly) Clayton Jr. of VA; great-granddaughter, Briana Clayton of Howell; and great-great-grandchildren, Alexis and James Clayton of VA; David Clayton III; and Rylan Clayton.
