Robert Luxford

Robert Arthur Luxford Mr. Robert Arthur Luxford, 69 of Atlanta passed away on October 21, 2012 at 6:10AM at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan with his wife, Patricia and long time friend and partner from the Los Angeles Police Department, Ken Williams, by his side. He was born on June 17, 1943 in Springfield, Ohio to Arthur and Mildred (Dunham) Luxford. He has lived in Atlanta for the last eighteen years at Twin Dams, formally from Lancaster, California. He retired from the Los Angeles Police Department after twenty-six years of service as Policeman III. He served his country in the United States Marines for four years, the National Guard for one year, and then the Army Reserves for the next nine years where he taught military intelligence. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 201 in Atlanta for thirty-seven years. He was also past zone commander for the state of Michigan. He enjoyed to hunt and fish in his free time, as well as being outdoors camping. Above everything, he enjoyed his time spent with family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Luxford of Atlanta; sons, Charles (Kim) Collier of Hillman; Michael (Holly) Luxford of Upland, CA; daughters, Michelle Luxford of Huntington Beach, CA; Mary (Chuck) Dean of Spring Branch, TX; April Luxford of Huntington Beach, CA; Ann Collier of Atlanta; twelve grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mildred Luxford; daughter, Deanna Luxford; sister, Patricia Stowe; and brother, Gene Luxford. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial held in celebration of his life on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Faith Lutheran Church, Hillman, MI, Pastor Jeff Londgren officiating.
