Robert Charles Lue

December 14, 1968 — September 15, 2024

Lewiston

On Sunday, September 15th, Robert (Rob) Lue, 55 of Lewiston, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side after a 3.5 year courageous battle with cancer. He was a true warrior.

Rob was born in 1968 in Muskegon, to Charles Lue and Patricia (Burns) Lue. He spent most of his years in West Michigan, including Holland, Spring Lake, and Grand Haven. He moved to Lewiston with his wife in 2013, where he embraced the community and built many lasting friendships.

He was a highly respected Journeyman Electrician who took great pride in his trade. His dedication to his work and attention to detail earned him the admiration of many. His career started right out of high school at the family business, Erickson Electric in Grand Haven. He worked for the IBEW for many years and finally Premier Electric in Lewiston. In addition to his professional life, Rob dedicated his time to his community and helping others. He spent many years assisting the local Wertz Warriors with fundraising efforts for Special Olympics of Michigan and volunteered at the Lewiston Moose Lodge.

Rob was a man of many talents – a true “Jack of all trades.” He had a knack for building things, often turning his wife’s imaginative ideas into reality using his many skills. He loved his fur babies with all his heart. His two Mastiff’s Sampson and Lexi will miss their “daddy.” He loved spending time with his family and friends enjoying activities like side-by-siding, snowmobiling, jeeping and boating. No matter what he was doing he always had fun. He was exceptional at pool and cornhole, and played in many cornhole tournaments and in Talley’s cornhole league.

Rob was loved by everyone who met him, and will be greatly missed by all. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who knew him. He was a generous soul and beautiful spirit in a world that could use a million more people just like him.

Rob is survived by his loving wife of 23 years Debbie Rhoades-Lue; “Mom and Dad,” Vern and Mary Rhoades of Lewiston; stepmom, Susan Lue of Muskegon; sister, Jaime (Matt) Fricke of Blue Lake Twp; brother, Brian (Christine) Erickson of Holton; stepdaughter, Krysta Sipkema of Holland; 3 grandkids, and many dear friends and family members.

Rob was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Peggy Burns; father, Charles Lue and mother, Patricia Erickson (Burns).

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Rob’s name to the Elk Country Animal Shelter in Atlanta, MI.
