Robert Gilson

Robert Allen Gilson Mr. Robert Allen Gilson, 71 of Lewiston, Michigan died peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones on the early morning of February 2, 2019. He was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan on December 29, 1947 to the late, Albert and Alice (Mallory) Gilson. On September 19, 1968 in Belleville he married his wife, Glenda (Judy) Gilson and together the couple celebrated 50 years of marriage before his passing. The couple have resided in Lewiston for the last 23 years, formerly living in Belleville. Robert retired from Ford Motor Company's Sheldon Road Plant after 30 years. He loved to draw and was an excellent artist. He enjoyed fishing and always had hoped to get into woodworking before he became sick. Above everything, he idolized his wife and his family was very important to him. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife, Glenda Gilson of Lewiston; son, Robert Allen Gilson Jr of Piedmont, South Carolina; daughter-in-law, Alana Gilson of Belleville; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Diane Hill of Belleville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Alice Gilson; son, Ronald; brothers, Donald and William; and sister, Donna Arney.

As were his wishes cremation has taken place. The family has chosen to remember Robert privately at this time.
