Robert William Duncan Mr. Robert William Duncan, 84 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully at Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord on the early morning on March 21, 2018. He was born in Flint, Michigan the son of the late, Norman and Beatrice (Powell) Duncan on May 2, 1933. He married his wife, Elva (Cook) Duncan on September 29, 1951 in Flushing and together the couple celebrated 66 years of marriage before his passing. Formerly of Flushing, the couple moved to Atlanta in 1990. Robert worked as a diesel mechanic for Sullivan O'Sullivan and retired after 21 years on the job. He was a member of the New Beginnings Ministries Church and the Elk Country Cruisers where he had a love for both his 55 Chevy Bellaire and his 79 Camaro. Robert raced stock cars for many years and enjoyed building the motors and was a lifetime auto racing fan. He loved to tinker around in the garage, he enjoyed farming, and he was an avid hunter and fisherman. Above everything he did, his wife and family were important to him and he cherished the time he spent with them. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Elva Duncan of Atlanta; daughters, Judy (Gordie) Ashcroft of Vassar; Barbara (Michael) Butcher of Goodrich; Katherine (Dennis) Gilles of Montrose; Donna (Kirby) Stehle of Atlanta; Diana Duncan of Flushing; sons, Kevin (Johnna) Duncan of Flushing; David Duncan of Lewiston; 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Stephen (Pauline) Duncan of Burt; Ronald (Joann) Duncan of Birch Run; and sister, Patricia Duncan of Burt. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Beatrice Duncan; sons, Gerald and Richard; brother, Chuck; sisters, Betty Duncan; Joanne Newman; and Ruth Pomroy. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and there are currently no services scheduled at this time for Mr. Duncan.
