Robert "Bob" Earl Armstrong Mr. Robert "Bob" Earl Armstrong, 88 of Lewiston, Michigan passed away on March 27, 2014 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Detroit, Michigan to the late, Luther and Hazel (Liebetreu) Armstrong on January 1, 1926. He served his country proudly in the United States Army Air Corps. On January 15, 1949 in Detroit he married wife, Marcia (Huston) Armstrong and together they spent 65 years of marriage before his passing. Bob lived in Lewiston since 2000. Formerly of Richmond, Michigan he served as a building inspector for 20 years. He was a carpenter most of his life, while having also spent some time working for Chevrolet Show and Display setting up displays for events. Bob was a member of the American Legion Post 198 in Lewiston. He was an avid Detroit Red Wings fan and loved sports. He remained active riding his bicycle and his motorcycle, once riding all the way to Alaska. He was also a member of the Blue Water Touring Motorcycle Club. Bob enjoyed to be outdoors and was an avid sailor and skier. Above everything, he enjoyed his time spent with family and friends and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Marcia Armstrong of Lewiston; sons, Chris (Bonnie) Armstrong of Avon Lake, Ohio; Daniel (Moriah) Armstrong of Eastsound, Washington; Dennis (Susan) Shoreline of Washington; grandchildren, Rachel, Julie, Aaron, Terra, and Jamey and Lorian Bacca; sister-in-laws, Dorothy Armstrong; and Eleanor Braun both of Lewiston. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Hazel Armstrong; son, David; brother, Dennis Armstrong; and brother, William "Bill" Braun. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial held in celebration of his life on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Congregation of the United Church of Christ, Lewiston.
