Rita Rawlings

Rita Yvonne Rawlings Rita Yvonne Rawlings, 80, of Grayling, formerly of Lewiston, passed away on July 6, 2008 at the Grayling Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. She was born on March 23, 1928 to Edward and Cecilia (Maires) Dobrick in Detroit, MI. She married Leroy Rawlings on June 21, 1947, in Bowling Green, Ohio, having just celebrated their 61st Wedding Anniversary. Rita worked as a retail clerk at Toms Market, and also managed Mary Lee Candies. She enjoyed arts and crafts, she would buy things then give them to family and friends. She was always doing for other people. She loved raising her children and time with family. Rita is survived by her husband, Leroy of Grayling, MI; son Leroy Jr (Deborah) Rawlings of Garden City, MI; daughters, Linda May (Mike) Smith of New Hudson, MI, and Susan Kay Rawlings of Charleston, SC; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren, with one on the way; brothers, Edward and Charles Dobrick both of Livonia, MI; and sisters, Rose Marie Foce of Livonia, MI, and Jeanette Stone of Chicago, IL. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Joseph Rawlings, daughter, Cheryl Rawlings, brother, George Dobrick, and sisters, Dolores Manners and Mary Ann Kraft. As were her wishes, cremation has taken place and there are no services planned at this time.
