Richard Ward

Richard Arley Ward Mr. Richard Arley Ward, 73 of Hillman passed away at his residence on October 25, 2012. He was born to Raymond and Yola (Fredette) Ward on November 5, 1938 in Wayne County, Michigan. He married Diane (Dewey) Ward on December 3, 1977. He has resided in Hillman for the past twenty-one years, formally of Romulus. Richard was self-employed and worked as a carpenter for many years. He was a member of the Michigan Conservation Club and the Wild Turkey Federation. In his free time he enjoyed to hunt-especially deer. He liked politics and sports and was a big University of Michigan fan, as well as the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Tigers. He also idolized Gordie Howe. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Diane Ward of Hillman; son, Jeff (Cobie) Ward of Ann Arbor; and grandchildren, Kyle, Sarah, and Spencer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Yola Ward; and grandson, Matt. Funeral services for Mr. Ward will be held on Monday, October 29, 2012 at 11:00AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, Royston, MI; Pastor Jason Mandley officiating. Visitation will take place at the church on Sunday, October 28, 2012 from 3:30PM until 8:00PM. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that memorials be made out to the St. John's Lutheran Church or the Hillman Brush Creek Mill.
