Richard Mason

Richard A. Mason Richard A. Mason, 86, of Lewiston, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2008 at Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord. He was born on March 9, 1922 to Charles and Thelma (Beebe) Mason in Schoolcraft, MI. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Lewiston Congregation of the United Church of Christ and also a member of the Masonic Lodge both in Lewiston and Schoolcraft. He was also a member of the 50+ Club and the Lewiston WOWS. He enjoyed waterskiing, and skied up into his mid sixties. He enjoyed nature and gardening, he loved to be outdoors. Above all else he loved to spend time with his family and grandchildren. Richard is survived by his daughters, Joanne (Mike) Selbee of Paradise, MI, and Janice (Tom) Adams of Lewiston, MI; grandsons, Trevor and Quade; brother Vern (Mary Lou) Adams of Kalamazoo, MI; and a sister, Barb Matteson of Portage, MI. He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlus; son James Richard Mason; sister, Betty Hord; and brother, Eugene Mason. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Lewiston Congregation of the United Church of Christ, Pastor Toby Stadden officiating. Visitation hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 PM at the funeral home, with Masonic services that evening.
Richard is survived by his daughters, Joanne (Mike) Selbee of Paradise, MI, and Janice (Tom) Adams of Lewiston, MI; grandsons, Trevor and Quade; brother Vern (Mary Lou) Adams of Kalamazoo, MI; and a sister, Barb Matteson of Portage, MI.
