Richard L. Clayton Richard Lewis Clayton, 80, of Hillman, MI, passed away on December 28, 2006 at his residence. He was born on November 2, 1926 to George and Mabel (Dunlap) Clayton in Detroit, MI. He married the former Beverly Kenyon on March 28, 1953 in Detroit, MI. Richard retired from the Detroit Police Department as a Detective Seargent after 31 yrs of service. He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge #89 of Belleville, MI. He was a member of both the Detroit Police Lieutenants and Sergeants Association and the Retired Detroit Police and Fire Fighters. He enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing, and camping. He was an avid reader and card player, especially euchre. He enjoyed singing and square dancing. Above all else he loved his family and grandchildren. Richard is survived by his wife, Beverly; sons Kirk Clayton of Hillman, MI and David (Joan) Clayton of Howell, MI; daughter, Cathy Clayton of Detroit, MI; grandchildren, David Jr, and Briana; great grandchildren, Alexis, James, and David III; sister, Dorothy Sinelli of Hillman, MI; nieces, Charlene, Lorene, and Eilene; great nephew, Nathan; great niece Sierra; and mother in law, Roberta Van Horn of Hillman. Funeral services for Mr Clayton will be held on Saturday, Decmeber 29, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the Hillman Free Methodist Church; visitation will be held on Friday from 3-7 PM at the church.
