Rev. Toby J. Stadden Rev. Toby J. Stadden, of Cadillac, MI and of the Lewiston Congregational United Church of Christ, 65, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 8, 2012. He was born on December 10, 1946 to James and Betty (Cobb) Stadden in Saginaw. He married Carol Muhlitner on August 2, 1970 in East Lansing. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Arts and Science from Michigan State University and his Master's Degree in Divinity at the Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis. He was the current minister at the Lewiston Congregational United Church of Christ serving there since 2003, and had served there from 1995-1997 as well. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to travel, as well as camping. He liked music, especially classic rock, and was an avid reader. He enjoyed working with wood and repairing things around the church and his home. He also liked spending time at his cottage on Jose Lake in the Huron National Forest near Hale, MI. Above everything, he enjoyed his time spent with his many cherished friends and his family and watching his children play sports, including soccer and tennis. He is survived by wife, Carol Stadden of Cadillac, MI; son, Michael Toby Stadden of Lansing, MI; daughters, Bethany Stadden of Lansing, MI; and Alyssa Stadden of Cadillac, MI; sisters, Pamela Trask of Elm Hall, MI; Penny (Tom) Ascroft of Laingsburg, MI; sister-in-law Mary (Rev Stephen) Brizzi of Green Forest, AR; mother-in-law Arlene Muhlitner of Bentonville, AR; and nieces and nephews, Matthew, Stephanie, Hillary, Erica, and Jennifer. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Betty. Funeral services for Rev. Toby will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 3:00 PM at the Lewiston Congregational United Church of Christ. Visitation hours will be held on Thursday from 4-8 PM and again on Friday from 2:00 PM until time of service at the church. Committal services will take place on Saturday, January 14, at 11:00 AM at the First Congregational Church in Cadillac, with a period of visitation for an hour prior for his Cadillac area friends unable to travel to Lewiston.
