Raymond Hershel Banks Raymond Hershel Banks, 78, of Hillman, MI, passed away at his residence on December 20, 2012. He was born on October 12, 1934 to Robbie and Minerva (Harrison) Banks in Palmer, TN. He married the former Wilma Wootten on October 16, 1953 in Detroit, MI. He has lived in Hillman for thirty plus years, having owned and operated Ray's New and Used Guns for 19 years. Prior to owning and operating Ray's, he drove semi truck for many years, and was past Vice President of the Teamsters Local 299. Ray was a lifetime NRA member, as guns and gunsmithing was his passion. He was also a member of the Atlanta Eagles 4077, Lewiston Moose, and the Alpena Sportsmen's Club. Ray is survived by his wife, Wilma; son Randy Banks of Hillman, MI; daughter, Theresa (Brent) Cadieux of Stockbridge, MI; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Edna Moran of Dearborn Heights, MI, and Lucy (Ron) Johnson of Rock Island, TN. He was preceded in death by two sons, Robbie and Roger Banks; and a sister Katherine Stockwell. Funeral services for Mr Banks will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Hillman United Methodist Church, Pastor Donald R Derby officiating. Visitation hours will be held from 10:00 AM until time of service at the Church. Arrangements were entrusted to the Green Funeral Home.
