Phyllis Springstead

Phyllis May Springstead Mrs. Phyllis May Springstead, 79 formerly of Harrison, Michigan died peacefully at her daughter's home in Lachine surrounded by loved ones on the morning of October 20, 2015. She was born in Ferndale, Michigan on March 31, 1936 the daughter of Herbert and Lola (Schneider) Strube. She married her husband, Thomas Springstead in Detroit on May 5, 1955 and together they celebrated over 50 years of marriage before his passing in 2009. Phyllis enjoyed cleaning as well as bird watching. She was very family oriented and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by son, Michael Springstead of Warren; daughters, Kim (Harvey) Lee of Fort Myers, Florida; Jean (Jim) Waeiss of Lachine; Jennifer Hollingsworth of Warren; Dayna (Rick) Tackett of Clay Township; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Ken (Marge) Strube of Warren; and sister, Elois Nowitka of Sterling Heights. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Lola Strube; husband, Thomas Springstead; son, Bryan; daughter, Beth Springstead; and brothers, Eugene and Darrell Strube. As were her wishes, cremation has taken place and her interment will take place at White Chapel Cemetery at a later date.
