Lewiston

Phillip D Korff, proud veteran, husband, father of 4 children, grandfather of 10, was 80 years old of Lewiston MI died peacefully on November 13, 2024.

He was born in Detroit MI in 1944. He graduated from Atlanta High School, joined the Army 1st Calvary Division and deployed to Vietnam, and worked hard as a Maintenance Manager at RPI and H B Carbide to help support his family. In his spare time, he loved to hunt, fish, working on cars, fixing just about anything, coaching/playing sports, and spending time with his family.

Phil lived a full life leaving everyone with so many stories, memories, and life lessons. His voice was known by so many for cheering on each and every kid in sports over the years. He would always help anyone in need with words of guidance, tools to fix things, or a helping hand to get by. His knowledge of mechanics, welding and repair work brought so many people asking for his help. One of his proudest moments was when he designed hand controls for his handicap brother-in-law so that he could drive and be independent. His greatest legacy was teaching his kids to be determined, tough, hard-working, educated, but thoughtful, empathetic and to always help others first.

Phil is survived by his wife of 53 years Mary Ann Korff, 4 children Phil Korff (Kim), Matt Korff (Peggy), Missy Mackowiak (Dan), Jen Pawlowski (Paul), 10 grandchildren Vinney Stahl, Gabby Stahl, Andy Hawley, Maggie Korff, Danny Mackowiak, Alex Mackowiak, Tyler Pawlowski, Collin Pawlowski, Ryan Pawlowski, and Myah Pawlowski, brother Robert Korff and many other beloved family members who dearly miss him.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents Richard (Butch) Korff and Esther Keskine, in-laws Joseph and Dorothy Kwapis, sisters Nellie Korff and Christine McIntire, brother Richard Korff II, brother-in-law Joseph Kwapis, Val Kwapis, Pat Milbocker, Leonard Latuszek; and sister-in-law Judie Korff, Jan Kwapis.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will remember him privately.
