Paul Johnson Paul Johnson, 54, died Friday, March 26th at his home in Atlanta, Michigan, after a prolonged illness. Paul was born July 5, 1955, on Travis AFB in northern California, to Joseph and Judith (Ducharme) Johnson. His dad was a painter at Dow Chemical Company and his mother was an RN. Paul grew up in Essexville, Michigan, graduated from Garber High School in 1973, and spent many summer vacations in the Atlanta area. He moved to Atlanta after obtaining his journeyman's license as a sheet metal worker, and was an active member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union, Local 7. Paul was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed the bountiful northern Michigan outdoors, as well as many other northern U.S. and Canadian hunting and fishing locals. Paul was also a talented welder who was known for his unique bicycle creations. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Judith. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Pamela and Larry Gordon; sister and brother-in-law Jeanne and Richard Anthony; sister Mary Johnson; sister and brother-in-law Tricia and Joel Underwood; nephew Dustin Johnson and wife Rose; nieces Erin Green, Diana Murray, and Jacqueline and Gabriella Underwood; Companion Susan Jobe, a large extended family and many close friends; and dog Cody and cat Chuck. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Michigan, Alpena in Memory of Paul Johnson.
