Owen Clayton Pierce Owen Clayton Pierce, 65, of Johannesburg, MI, passed away at his residence on September 14, 2008. He was born on September 4, 1943 to Owen and Shirley (Hoffman) Pierce in Livonia, MI. Owen owned and operated Pierce Carpet Sales and Service for over 30 yrs. He has lived in Johannesburg for the past two years, formerly of Tucson, AZ. He enjoyed cooking, and loved to garden and work in his yard. He was an avid watch and coin collector. Owen is survived by his wife, Belinda of Johannesburg, MI; sons, Sonny of Florida, and Cody of Johannesburg; daughters, Wendy Ferguson of Detroit, MI, Shelley (Ray) Quiroz of South Lyon, MI, Julie Pierce of South Lyon, MI, Courtney Gutierrez of Idaho, Nicole (Brad) Mclain of Ft Camble, KY, and Ashley Riba of Kansas; 7 grandchildren; brothers, Dennis (Chris) Pierce of Redford, MI, Richard (Paula) Pierce of Germany, and Gary Pierce of Johannesburg; sister, Cindy (Ron) Paris of Johannesburg; and step mother, Shelley Pierce of Paradise, MI. He was preceded in death by his father, Owen A Pierce, and his mother, Shirley Pierce. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service for Mr Pierce will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Green Funeral Home in Lewiston, MI, Pastor Scott Sheer officiating. Inurnment will take place at Bay Mills Twp Cemetery in Brimley, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to the Pierce Family or to the American Cancer Society in care of the Green Funeral Home, PO Box 201, Atlanta, MI 49709.
