Owen Allen Pierce Owen Allen Pierce, 89, of Paradise, MI, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at his residence. He was born on September 27, 1918 to Henry and Della (Rush) Pierce in Evening Shade, AR. He married the former Shelley Haynes in Marshall, TX in 1982. As a young man, he joined the CCC Camps in Arkansas. He served his country during WWII in the Army as a Tech Sgt in the 78th AAA Gun Battalion. He was stationed in Attu and participated in the Battle of Attu. Owen lived in Rochester, MI for many years, he owned and operated GP Plastics in Rochester Hills from 1965 to 1997. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed gambling in his spare time. Above all else came his family, he always treated them like royalty. Owen is survived by his wife, Shelley of Paradise, MI; sons, Owen Jr (Belinda) of Johannesburg, MI, Dennis (Chris) of Redford, MI, Richard (Paula) of Germany, and Gary of Johannesburg, MI; daughter, Cindy (Ron) Paris of Johannesburg, MI; grandchildren, Jessica, Theresa, Eric, Dillon, Tori, Megan, Adam, Stephanie, Shelley, Julie, Wendy, Cody, Sonny, Chris, Denise, and William; 9 great grandchildren; mother and father in law, George and Mabelle Haynes of E. Boothbay, ME; brother in laws, George Haynes of Pt Huron, MI, and Tom Haynes of Keene, NH; and a sister in law, Susan Haynes of Oneida, NY. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Jean; brothers, Alexander, Noah and Oren; and sisters Alta Pierce, Dessie Duke, Bessie Block, and Mary Causbie. Funeral services for Mr Pierce will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Green Funeral Home, Lewiston, MI. Visitation hours will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Mission Hill Cemetery in Bay Mills Twp, MI in the spring
