Mr. Otis Henry Williams, 99 of Lewiston, Michigan died peacefully on February 4, 2020 at Munson Healthcare Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord. He was born on September 16, 1920 in Jennings, Michigan to the late, Phillip and Mary (Hicks) Williams. He married the love of his life, Lela (McClish) Williams on September 25, 1942 in Gladstone, Michigan and together the couple celebrated 77 years of marriage before his passing. The couple has resided in Lewiston since 1961. Otis worked for the DNR Fisheries at Hunt Creek Research Station. He enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including his love for the outdoors where he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking. He was well known for his unique hand carved duck decoys. He also spent time collecting antique bottles and reading, even writing a few articles for Outdoor Magazine. He was an amazing storyteller and valued the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren and family. Otis will be dearly missed.
Otis is survived by his loving wife, Lela Williams of Lewiston; daughter, Virginia Broeders of Rock; daughter-in-law Linda Williams of Lewiston; grandchildren, Susan Bale, Robert Bale, Abby (John) Gornall, Wendy (Frank Kibby) Williams, Dane (Alicia) Williams; numerous great-grandchildren Mary, Anna, Joey, Cole, Aiden, Cody, Hope, Emmett, Reid, Nolan; and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Mary Williams; son, Clyde Williams; brothers, Luis and Bert; sisters, Eunice, Linda, Acyne, Edith, and son-in-law, Milton Broeders.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. The family has chosen to remember Otis privately at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice of Michigan.
