Nicholena A. (Nicki) Dougherty Nicholena Ann Dougherty, 88, passed away July 29, 2015 at Lee Memorial Hospital, Ft. Myers, Florida. Nicki was born February 23, 1927 in Hartford, CT. to Paolo Uccello and Maria Gentile. Raised in CT, she married Lawrence H. Violette in 1946 in Hartford, CT. They had five children, who survive her, Sharon (Ron) Ferns of Canada and Florida, Kristine (Willis) May of Florida, Larry Ryck (Martha) Violette of Florida, David (Andrea) Violette of Standish, and Richard (Lynette) Violette of Midland. She had 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Nicki lived in Flint for 25 years and owned and operated the Travelers Inn in Omer, MI for 23 years. She moved to Atlanta, MI in 1980 and was a member of the Eagles #4077, American Legion of Standish, former Rebecca of Atlanta and the O'Dochartaigh Assoc. She also was a hospice volunteer. She has one sister who survives her, Mary (James) Smith of Flint. Two other sisters, Josephine Lombard, and Lucy Ciccaglione of CT predeceased her. She also, had three brothers, all deceased, James Uccello, Nicholas Uccello, and Salvatore Uccello. She had many nieces and nephews. Nicki was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence Violette, in 2007 and her second husband Tom Doughterty, in 2003. Her children and grandchildren meant everything to her and she loved to be with her loving family. She had numerous friends in Omer, Atlanta, and Florida where she loved playing cards, bingo and gardening. Thanks to all the friends and neighbors who helped Nicki over the years. She appreciated all of you and said so many, many times. Cremation has taken place and no service has been planned, per her wishes.
