Nicholas Wittman Jr

Nicholas F. Wittman, Jr passed away peacefully at home on August 6, 2022 with his girls at his side. Nick was born on October 29, 1950 to Nicholas and Johanna (Bachman) Wittman Sr in Detroit, Michigan. He married Kathleen Richardson on January 10, 1970 in Sebewaing, Michigan. They moved to Hillman in 1974. Nick’s favorite things in life were farming and trucking. As long as he had a steering wheel in his hands, he was happy. Nick could strike up a conversation with anyone. He had friends in many states, but it was the farmers he was drawn too. He always seemed to find them in the Mom and Pop Café’s he had marked on his map.

Nick is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughters, Kristi (Jason) Snyder; Jodi (Eugene) Jameson; grandchildren, Renee, Garrett, and Kyle Snyder; Paul (Jacki Shafer) Jameson; Alex (Montana Mankowski) Jameson; Anna (Cody Cole) Jameson; and great-granddaughter, Michelle Jameson; siblings, Mary Schwalm, Teresa (Bob) Clark, Jan Behring, Lynn (Neil) Morrison, Ann (Kris Duchene) Herrick, Bill and Joe Wittman; he was Uncle Nick or Neighbor Nick to numerous nieces, nephews, and friends and a brother-in-law to the Richardson family.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A mass of Christian burial will take place at noon on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Hillman. There will be a rosary service beginning at 9:30 AM followed by visitation beginning at 10:00 AM until time of service. Inurnment will follow services at St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery, Hillman. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Augustine Catholic Church in memory of Nick.
