Nelson Maddox

Nelson Neal Maddox Nelson Neil Maddox, 36, of Atlanta, formerly of Gaylord, MI, passed away suddenly as the result of a tragic car accident on July 27, 2007. He was born on June 27, 1971 to Ronald and Linda (Johnson) Maddox in Newberry, MI. Nelson was working for Natural Gas Services Group, formerly known as Great Lakes Compression for the past 13 years. He loved the outdoors and was an avid snowmobiler and hunter. He also enjoyed going to the races with his friends. Above all else, Nelson loved to spend time with his daughters and family. Nelson is survived by his four daughters, Alexia, Megan, Tarissa, and Rhyanna, all of Gaylord, MI; granddaughter McKenzie; mother, Linda Mercure of Marquette, MI; father, Ronald Maddox of McMillan, MI; step father, David Mercure of Marquette, MI; brother, Derrick Maddox of Marquette, MI; sister, Tina (Dave) Sormunen of Marquette, MI; grandmother, Vera Maddox of McMillan, MI; the mother of his children, Diana (Marvin) Williams, of Gaylord, MI; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Alfred and Mary Johnson, and grandfather, Nelson Maddox. Funeral services for Mr. Maddox will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at the Beaulieu Funeral Home in Newberry, MI at 11:00 a.m. Visitation hours will be held on Monday from 3-7 p.m. at the Green Funeral Home, Atlanta, with a brief service beginning at 7:00, Pastor Joe Sereno officiating. There will be further visitation on Tuesday at Beaulieu Funeral Home in Newberry.
