Moses Wiley

Mr. Moses Wiley, 81 of Hillman, Michigan died peacefully at MidMichigan Medical Center of Alpena on March 20, 2021. He was born in Huntington, West Virginia on November 23, 1939 to the late, Sol and Maude (Vance) Wiley. In 1969 he married his wife, Liza (Thacker) Wiley and together they celebrated 50+ years of marriage before his passing. They have resided in Hillman for the last 22 years, formerly of Pontiac. Moses was a member of the UAW and worked as a welder for General Motors before retirement. He enjoyed welding, fabricating, and was known to be a jack-of-all-trades. He liked to fish and hunt and greatly enjoyed morel mushroom picking. He was a kind hearted man who would do anything for anyone. There was never a person that was a stranger to Moses. He will be deeply missed.

Moses is survived by his loving wife, Liza Wiley of Hillman; sons, Moses Wiley Jr. of Pontiac; John Wiley; Jason (Sandy) Wiley both of Hillman; daughter, Jenine Stone of Lachine; grandchildren, Joe Stone; Brenda Stone; Jasmine Wiley; Keenan Wiley; Abby Wiley; great-grandchildren, Coraline Cummins; and Edward Moses Bush; brothers, Rick (Lesta) Wiley of Branchland, West Virginia; Joe (Sharon) Wiley of Newark, Ohio; Ervin (Judy) Wiley of Branchland, West Virginia; and sister, Ellan (Rory) Cortz of Branchland, West Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sol and Maude Wiley; sisters, Annie and Gertrude; and brothers, John and Leonard.

Funeral services for Mr. Wiley will take place at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Green Funeral Home, Hillman; Pastor Dave Fisher officiating. Visitation will take place from noon until time of service. Masks are required as well as social distancing and we do have to maintain a maximum of 25 people for the service.
