Michael Teets

Michael Ray Teets Michael Ray Teets, 57 of Atlanta, passed away on July 8, 2008 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. He was born on May 29, 1951 to Alfred and Dora (Gammey) Teets in Alpena, MI. He married the former Wanda Price in 1971 in Onaway, MI. Mike lived in Atlanta all of his life, he graduated from Atlanta High School, and then went on to work and retire from the Montmorency County Sheriffs Department as a Sergeant after 32 yrs of service. He was active in his community as well, serving on the Fire, Ambulance, and Airport Boards, and as a trustee for Avery Twp. He loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed woodworking and building projects. Mike loved to spend time with his family. Mike is survived by his wife, Wanda; sons, Josh (Amy) Teets of Atlanta, MI, and Jacob Teets of Wilmington, NC; 6 grandchildren; brothers, Tony Teets of Davison, MI, and Jim Teets of Atlanta, MI; sister Linda (Mike) Slovacheck of Norfolk, VA; numerous nieces and nephews; and his uncle and aunt, Bud and Hazel Teets of Atlanta, MI. Funeral services for Mr Teets will be held on Friday, July 11, 2008 at the Atlanta Elementary School Gymnasium, at 2 pm, Pastor James Morgan officiating. Visitation hours will be held at the Green Funeral Home, Atlanta, on Thursday from 5-8 pm, and on Friday from 1 pm until time of service at the school.
