Michael Solonika

Mr. Michael Robert "Boots" Solonika, 41 of Hillman, Michigan died peacefully at his home surrounded by the love of his family on the evening of November 24, 2020. He was born in Pontiac, Michigan on October 11, 1979 to Stephen and Debra (Saddler) Solonika. Boots lived in Hillman most of his life working several different jobs in the area. He was a  bartender at the Hi Way Inn and cooked at Chauncey's Pub both in Hillman. Previous to living in Hillman, he resided in Pontiac and Detroit. In the past, Boots was known as a true gamer. He was the funny man with a great sense of humor which will be missed among his family and friends.

He is survived by his mother, Debra Solonika; sister, Jennifer Solonika; brother, Jeff Solonika; uncles, Joe (Micki) Solonika; Dan (Mary) Saddler; Bill Saddler; aunts, Vicki (Roger) Smith; Viola (Jeff) Groat; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Stephen; brother, Steve; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Funeral services for Boots will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Green Funeral Home, Hillman; Pastor Dave Fisher officiating. Visitation will take place on Friday, November 27, 2020 at 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of service. Interment will follow at Hillman Rust Township Cemetery. At this time funerals are limited to 25 people per the executive order so the funeral service will be only for immediate family and closed to the public.
