Melva Stringfellow

Melva Ann Spens Stringfellow Mrs. Melva Ann Spens Stringfellow went to be with Jesus peacefully in her sleep at her residence in Atlanta, Michigan on April 29, 2018 at the age of 91. She was the daughter of the late, Harold Russell and Jacquetta (Stacy) Spens and was born on May 9, 1926 in Halfway, Michigan. Melva married her husband, Warner Kenny Stringfellow Jr. on May 9, 1946 in Detroit and together the couple celebrated 26 years of marriage before his passing. She loved riding her golf cart through the back woods and around Gaylanta Lake, Michigan. She also enjoyed driving her pontoon boat around the lake. Melva never missed a sale as she loved shopping and all-you-can-eat restaurants. Most importantly, she loved being with family. She is survived by her children, Sharon (Kenneth) Hopkins of Johannesburg; Annette (Mario) Vittiglio of Atlanta; Russell (Eva) Stringfellow of Sterling Heights; Warner III (Betty Kaczmarek) of Atlanta; grandchildren, Dawn (Brian) Raven of Warren; Joseph (Kathy) Cusick of Pickford; Denise (Greg) Allan of South Lyon; Russell II (Michelle) Stringfellow of Grosse Pointe Park; Melanie Stringfellow of Texas; Warner IV Stringfellow of Florida; Sarah Stringfellow of Florida; great-grandchildren, Brittany Hammonds of Warren; Joseph Cusick Jr of Pickford; Victoria (Jacob) Harrison of Wayland; Zachary Allan of South Lyon; Olivia Allan of South Lyon; Dylan Stringfellow of Grosse Pointe Park; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Jacquetta Spens; husband, Warner Kenny Stringfellow Jr; sisters-in-law, Doris Bittner; and Ann Hopp. As were her wishes, cremation has taken place and there are currently no services planned for Mrs. Stringfellow at this time. There will be a celebration of her life for the family at a later date. Donations may be sent to the Detroit Police Firefighters Association, 2525 E. 14 Mile Road, Sterling Heights, Michigan 48310 in her memory.
